Dior Resort 2019. Tokyo Exclusive Capsule Collection.
Tokyo Exclusive Capsule Collection
Maria Grazia Chiuri, Artistic Director for Women Dior, has produced ten ready-to-wear looks exclusively for the opening of the Dior boutique at Ginza Six in Tokyo. A capsule collection inspired by its founder’s ‘Jardin Japonais’ dress.
The delicate flowers and interlacing branches are printed on fringed canvas, hand-painted on leather, or reinvented on an inset knitted sweater. All in looks that freely fuse the contemporary woman’s wardrobe with nods to the House’s history and homages to Japanese culture.
To accompany these contemporary outfits, Maria Grazia Chiuri also designed a series of limited-edition accessories. The Lady Dior and Dioraddict bags, along with D-Bee clutches, appear with a motif inspired by the Jardin Japonais dress hand-painted on nude or black leather, or in Dior Oblique canvas drawn from the House’s heritage. Cherry flowers also bloom on tulle pumps with an ankle ribbon bearing the legend “Jardin japonais”. Offering the final touches to a look that celebrates the spring, a silk square and a Mitzah scarf reprise the blossoming cherry branches motif.
The new ready-to-wear and accessory collection dedicated to Japan will be available for purchase today in the new Tokyo boutique.
