Normann Copenhagen ‘s Pink Showroom. The Gallery.
Normann Copenhagen is a danish brand, launched by Jan Andersen and Poul Madsen in 1999. The company has become increasingly responsive to new trends in the design industry. As a matter of fact, the store has a proud collection of furniture, lighting, textiles and home accessories. What is more handpicked clothing and fashion items are carefully curated on displays. Furthermore, the exhibitions change on a continual basis to show selected parts of the collection in new, inspiring constellations.
The 1700 m2 space previously included a water distillery, a theatre, a sound studio and a cinema. Whereas now the showroom is restored and the flagship has a 20 metre-long sofa adorned hall, a grand ballroom with terrazzo-covered steps, a stage area and a gallery.
Located in the lower floor of Normann Copenhagen’s showroom, the Gallery, is all in a thunderous pop of pure pink! Together with the bright colour, it is a transformative space where anything can happen. All products and furniture pieces are in various shades of pink in this room.
The tunnel connects the hall with the grand ballroom, which was once a cinema.
Downstairs in the gallery, the Danish artist Nina Holmgren additionally created a site-specific sound installation based on aquatic noises.
