Literature Vs Traffic.10.000 Books Installation for Nuit Blanche Toronto 2016.
The team worked for 12 days with more than 50 volunteers while 10,000 books were donated by the Salvation Army. Finally on the night of October 1st, the books replaced cars on Hagerman Street, downtown Toronto.
The message? “We want literature to take over the streets and conquer public spaces, freely offering those passersby a traffic-free place which, for some hours, will succumb to the humble power of the written word.”
During that night, visitors could literally immerse in the river of books as they could dove down and find treasures, taking small pieces of the installation home.
