Vina Vik Wanderlust! An Eclectic Art Hotel and Winery, Chile.
Vina Vik a true gem of its region, was built in Millahue Chile when Alex and Carrie Vik, the art and wine-collecting couple decided to expand their hotel collection- they already have two more jaw-dropping properties, Uruguay’s Estancia Vik and Playa Vik, with two more launching soon.
The Viks, along with Uruguayan architect Marcelo Daglio, designed the hotel’s undulating titanium roof, which glints like a golden spaceship as you approach the resort.
However the real star here is the vineyard. The Viks wanted not only to create a fine blend but their dream is to have one day the best wine in the continent! Vik 2010 is made up of 56 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 32 percent Carmenère, with small amounts of Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. It has the sweet fruit and richness characteristic of Chilean wines, but with exceptional elegance.
