Chanel Metiers d’ Art 2016. #ParisinRome
Chanel’s latest collection, Pre-Fall 2016, was a surprise for all those who attended the show. Lagerfeld and his team, who always create a spectacle worth seen, for one more time did not fail to satisfy all of our expectations. The Chanel’s team created a narrow and picturesque Parisian street, to wander along and dream of living in this beautiful city filled with typical establishments like a boulangerie, a flower shop, a metro and all in the brand’s signature black and white. The controversial issue was that the venue was the outstanding and legendary studios of Cinecitta in Rome, and the house managed to bring #ParisinRome!
However, Langerfeld’s relationship with Rome is not something new since he had been in collaboration with the house of Fendi for many years. But Coco Chanel also had a close relationship with the eternal city since she lived in one of the most beautiful streets of the historic city, via Giulia and dressed legendary actresses.
When it come to the collection the designer used for his colour palette black, white, a little bit of purple and pink salmon while the prints did not miss. Hot items that draw our attention were the palazzo pyjamas, capelets, patterns like checks, oversized sweaters, ostrich feathered dresses, leather pencil skirts in lace-covered legs, structured peacoats and tweed jackets of course!
“The Roman Express” the very special newspaper that featured classic photos of French actresses from the 50s and 60s specifically created and printed by Lagerfeld for this evening.
